Prosthodontics: Dentures, Crowns and Bridges
Missing or heavily damaged teeth change how you eat, speak and smile. Prosthodontics restores them, from a single crown to a complete set of teeth.
This page covers crowns, bridges and dentures: rebuilding or replacing teeth a few at a time. Where teeth across the whole mouth need attention together as one coordinated plan, that is a different pathway, set out on our full mouth reconstruction page.
Restorations We Offer
- Dentures (Complete & Partial)
- Implant-Supported Dentures
- Dental Bridges
- Crowns
- Cosmetic Bonding
- Full-Mouth Prosthetic Restorations

Restoring Function and Confidence
Dentures replace many missing teeth at once and can be complete or partial. Where more stability is wanted, implant-supported dentures anchor to dental implants.
Bridges and crowns restore individual teeth and spaces with fixed results.
What each restoration is, in plain language
Crowns. A crown is a custom-made cover that fits over a whole tooth, down to the gum line. It restores a tooth too broken down, cracked or worn for a filling to hold, and lets it take chewing force again. A crown is also commonly fitted after root canal treatment, because a treated tooth has less remaining structure. Crown materials vary, and the choice affects both appearance and cost.
Dental bridges. A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth with a fixed restoration carried by the teeth on either side of the gap. Those neighbouring teeth are reshaped to support it, which is the main trade-off. It stays in the mouth, so cleaning underneath it becomes part of your daily routine.
Dentures, complete and partial. A partial denture replaces some missing teeth and is supported by the remaining teeth and gums. A complete denture replaces all the teeth in an arch and rests on the gum tissue. Both are removable, and both replace teeth without surgery.
Implant-supported dentures. The denture is anchored to dental implants placed in the jaw rather than resting on the gums alone. It depends on enough bone and healthy gums, so an implant assessment comes first, and the implant part is planned and priced separately from the denture.
Cosmetic bonding. Tooth-coloured composite is shaped directly onto the tooth to repair a chip, close a small gap or rebuild a worn edge. Because it is built on the tooth rather than made in a laboratory, less tooth structure is removed than for a crown. See also our cosmetic dentistry page.
Which Restoration Fits?
Who it may help
Patients missing one, several or all teeth, and patients with heavily worn or damaged teeth that need rebuilding.
Things to consider
The right option depends on how many teeth are involved, the condition of neighbouring teeth and gums, and your preference between removable and fixed. An assessment settles it.
Who may need something else first
Gum disease, active decay or a failing supporting tooth all affect what a restoration can be built on. Some teeth need removal before a denture or bridge is planned, and others need root canal treatment before a crown. Suitability requires an in-person clinical assessment.
From Assessment to New Teeth
- Examination and imaging of teeth, gums and bite
- Options explained: removable, fixed, or implant-supported
- Impressions or digital scans
- Fabrication of your denture, crown or bridge
- Fitting, adjustment and aftercare
The first visit is normally for assessment and planning rather than fitting. Once an approach is agreed, an impression or a digital scan records the shape of your teeth, and at the fitting appointment the restoration is tried in, checked against your bite and adjusted before it is placed.
How long it takes
Crowns, bridges and dentures are made to your own measurements, so treatment runs across more than one appointment, with fabrication between visits. Complete dentures and larger cases usually involve several stages, including try-in appointments to check fit, bite and appearance. Your dentist maps out your expected schedule after your assessment.
Recovery and aftercare
A new removable denture takes getting used to. Speech and eating can feel different at first, and mild sore spots in the early days are common, and your dentist will advise you on the adjustments that may be needed.
Dentures are cleaned out of the mouth daily, and the gums underneath need cleaning too. Crowns and bridges are brushed and flossed like natural teeth, and a bridge needs cleaning underneath using the tool your dentist recommends. Regular check-ups and cleaning remain important after prosthetic work, because the restoration depends on what supports it.
How long the results last
That depends on the materials used, your bite, how well the restoration is cleaned, and the health of the teeth, gums and bone supporting it. Gums and bone change shape after teeth are lost, so a denture that fits well today may need relining or remaking later. Checking the fit at your check-ups is part of looking after it.
How this compares with the alternatives we offer
Dental implants can replace missing teeth without involving neighbouring teeth, which is the main reason patients weigh them against a bridge. They involve surgery and a longer timeline.
A bridge against a denture: a bridge is fixed and supported by the teeth beside the gap, while a denture is removable and can replace more teeth at once, including a whole arch. How many teeth are missing, and how sound the neighbours are, usually decides it.
Full mouth reconstruction plans the whole outcome first and stages the work, a different approach from restoring teeth individually.
Bonding or veneers may suit better where the concern is appearance rather than missing teeth.
How to prepare for your assessment
Bring any previous dentures, crowns or bridges, even ones you have stopped wearing, and recent x-rays if you have them. List the medicines you take and any medical conditions, since these affect planning and healing. Be clear about what bothers you most: chewing, appearance, speech, or something coming loose.
What it costs
The main factors are the restoration chosen, the materials used, how many teeth are involved, and the condition of the teeth and gums supporting it. Implant-supported dentures also carry the cost of the implants, which are priced separately from the denture.
- Crowns: about โฑ22,000 to โฑ28,000 per tooth, varying with the material and the position of the tooth
- Dentures: from about โฑ12,000 for a partial denture, with a full arch materially more
These ranges apply to our Makati and BGC clinics. Cebu is quoted separately, so please ask the Cebu clinic for its current rates.

More than one. The restoration is made to your own measurements between appointments, and larger cases include try-in stages. Your dentist sets out the schedule after your assessment.
Preparing a tooth for a crown or bridge is normally carried out under local anaesthesia, and your dentist will explain what to expect at each step.
