Orthodontic treatment is designed to improve tooth alignment and, depending on the case, bite function as well. Our orthodontic care covers every stage, from a child’s first assessment to adult treatment.
What orthodontic treatment actually does
Orthodontics moves teeth into better positions. Whether the appliance is a fixed brace or a removable clear aligner, the principle is the same: gentle, continuous pressure is applied to a tooth, the bone around the root remodels, and the tooth settles into its new position. That is why treatment is measured in months rather than in visits, and why it cannot be rushed. The bite, meaning how the upper and lower teeth meet when you close, can be addressed at the same time, depending on the case.
Orthodontic options we offer
- Traditional Metal Braces. Brackets bonded to each tooth and joined by a wire, adjusted at regular visits.
- Ceramic / Clear Braces. The same fixed approach with tooth coloured or clear brackets, so it is less visible.
- Self-Ligating Braces. Brackets that hold the wire with a built in clip instead of elastic ties.
- Clear Aligners. Removable transparent trays worn in sequence, each moving the teeth a step further.
- Retainers (fixed & removable). Worn after active treatment to hold the result.
- Early Orthodontic Treatment. Assessment and, where indicated, treatment while a child is still growing.
- Surgical Orthodontics. For complex bite problems, which your dentist will discuss if relevant.
The ON Aligners difference
One Nadela operates ON Aligners, the first robotic aligner fabrication system in the Philippines. Braces or clear aligners: how to choose
The practical differences patients weigh, with the choice confirmed at consultation:
- Visibility. Clear aligners are transparent and ceramic brackets tooth coloured, so both are less noticeable than metal brackets.
- Removability. Aligners come out for eating and cleaning, so there are no food restrictions. Fixed braces stay on, so hard and sticky foods are avoided and cleaning takes more care.
- Responsibility. A fixed brace works whether or not you think about it. An aligner works only while it is worn.
Is orthodontic treatment for you?
Who it may help. Crowded, spaced or misaligned teeth can be addressed in both teens and adults, and children benefit from an early assessment. Aligned teeth are easier to clean and can improve how the bite functions. There is no upper age limit written into how teeth move, so adults never treated as teenagers, or whose teeth have shifted since, are a normal part of orthodontics.
Things to consider. Healthy teeth and gums come first: any decay or gum concerns are treated before orthodontics begins, which is why a general dentistry check comes first. Complex bite problems may involve surgical orthodontics, which your dentist will discuss if relevant.

How treatment progresses
- Consultation and records, including imaging and scans, so the movement is planned rather than estimated.
- A treatment plan with the option that fits your case, setting out the appliance, the sequence, the expected duration and the cost.
- Braces fitted, or aligners fabricated and delivered. ON Aligners are manufactured after the plan is finalised.
- Regular adjustment or aligner-change visits, with reviews to confirm the teeth are tracking to plan.
- Retainers to hold the result once treatment ends.
How long it takes, and what it feels like
Treatment runs over months. The length depends on how far the teeth have to move, the option chosen, and wear time and attendance, so your dentist gives you an expected duration as part of your treatment plan, not before an examination.
You may feel pressure or tenderness for a few days after braces are fitted, after an adjustment, or when you start a new aligner. Tell your dentist if a bracket or wire is irritating your cheek or lip, or if an aligner does not seat properly.
Day to day care matters. With fixed braces, cleaning between the brackets and the wire becomes part of the routine, and hard, crunchy or sticky foods can damage brackets. With aligners, take them out to eat and to drink anything other than water, clean them as instructed, and put them straight back in: time out of the mouth is time treatment is not progressing.
After treatment: retainers, and how long the result lasts
Teeth are held by bone and soft tissue that have just been remodelled, and they can drift over time, including many years later. Retainers hold the result, and they are not optional. Your dentist will tell you which type suits your case, fixed or removable, and how it should be worn. Ask your dentist whether retainers are included in your treatment fee.
What braces and clear aligners cost
At our Makati and BGC clinics, the guide ranges are:
- Braces: about ₱45,000 to ₱120,000, spanning one arch to both arches and conventional brackets to self-ligating.
- ON Aligners: from about ₱50,000. Complex cases are quoted individually.
These ranges apply to our Makati and BGC clinics. Cebu is quoted separately, so please ask the Cebu clinic for its current rates.

How to prepare for your consultation
- Note when you first noticed the concern, and what bothers you about it.
- Bring any previous dental records, X-rays or scans, and mention earlier orthodontic treatment.
- Mention grinding, clicking or jaw discomfort, and any medical conditions or medicines.
- Bring your questions. Duration, appliance type, visit frequency and cost are worth settling first.
