Dental Implants

Dental implants are a long-term option for replacing missing teeth. They involve placing a titanium post into the jawbone, which acts as an artificial root to support a replacement tooth or bridge.

What a dental implant is, in plain language

An implant is three parts that come together over time. The post is a small titanium screw placed into the jawbone, where the root of the missing tooth used to be. Over the following months the bone heals around it and grips it, a process called osseointegration. An abutment is then fitted as a connector, and a custom crown, bridge or denture is attached on top. That last part is the tooth you see and chew with.

That structure explains why treatment is staged over months, and why the implant and the crown are quoted separately.

What conditions may be addressed

We offer Single Tooth Implant, Multiple Implants, Immediate Load Implants, Bone Grafting and Guided Implant Surgery. Which one applies is decided at assessment. Contact us to confirm which are available at your branch.

Suitability

Who may be suitable

Individuals with missing teeth who have adequate jawbone density and healthy gums. The post needs solid bone to hold on to and the surrounding tissue has to stay free of infection, so both are checked at assessment rather than assumed.

Who may not be suitable

Patients with significant bone loss (unless bone grafting is performed), uncontrolled diabetes, heavy smokers, or those with certain medical conditions that affect bone healing. Suitability requires an in-person clinical assessment.

Not suitable today does not always mean not suitable at all. Where the jaw lacks volume, bone grafting rebuilds support where an implant needs a stronger foundation.

The process, step by step

  1. Consultation and imaging. A comprehensive evaluation, often including 3D imaging, to assess bone structure.
  2. Placement. The implant post is surgically placed into the jawbone.
  3. Healing (osseointegration). The bone heals and fuses with the implant over several months.
  4. Restoration. An abutment and a custom crown (or bridge or denture) are attached to the implant.

The first visit is normally for consultation, imaging and planning. You will then receive a personalized treatment plan covering the recommended approach, the expected stages and the schedule of visits.

Placement is an oral surgery procedure, carried out under local anaesthesia on the day, with the options and the aftercare explained beforehand. Guided Implant Surgery and digital treatment planning are part of our dental implant service; the digital tools are described on our digital dentistry page. Digital tools support planning; they do not replace clinical judgement. Contact us to confirm which are available at your branch.

How long implant treatment takes

Overall timelines vary from a few months onward, depending on healing and whether bone grafting is needed. Your dentist maps out your schedule after your assessment.

In selected cases an immediate-load approach may be considered.

Recovery and aftercare

Recovery takes days and aftercare instructions matter. Some swelling or discomfort afterwards is normal. You are given written aftercare guidance and reviewed as needed. The longer healing period that follows is the months of osseointegration, which happens in the bone.

Once the final crown is fitted the routine is ordinary: implants require the same care as natural teeth, including daily brushing, flossing, and regular dental check-ups. Gum tissue around an implant still responds to plaque, so check-ups and cleaning protect the work over time.

How long implants last

We describe implants as a long-term option rather than a permanent one, and that wording is deliberate. How long any individual implant serves depends on gum health, bone support, bite forces and how consistently it is maintained. Your dentist will tell you what is realistic for your case.

How implants compare with the alternatives we offer

A dental bridge fills the gap with a fixed replacement supported by the teeth on either side. It is quicker, but it involves preparing those neighbouring teeth, which an implant does not.

A removable denture replaces several teeth at once without surgery. An implant-supported denture sits between the two: a denture anchored to implants where more stability is wanted. All three are on our prosthodontics page.

Where many teeth need attention at once, implants are usually one part of a larger staged plan, which is what full mouth reconstruction is for.

Benefits, limitations, risks and alternatives

Designed to function and look like natural teeth; does not require altering adjacent teeth (unlike a bridge).

Requires a surgical procedure; longer treatment timeline compared to alternatives.

Infection, implant failure, nerve damage, or sinus problems.

Dental bridges or removable dentures. Oral surgery covers extractions and bone grafting where those come first.

How to prepare for your consultation

What dental implants cost

At our Makati and BGC clinics, dental implants are about โ‚ฑ80,000 to โ‚ฑ200,000 per implant. The implant crown is priced separately. That figure is for the implant itself, not the finished tooth you chew with, so ask for both numbers when you receive your treatment plan.

These ranges apply to our Makati and BGC clinics. Cebu is quoted separately, so please ask the Cebu clinic for its current rates.

Final cost depends on your dental condition, the materials used and the complexity of the case. These ranges are a guide, and your exact figure is confirmed after examination. Our treatment price guide lists our other treatment ranges.

We accept cash, debit and credit cards for straight payments, bank transfers, GCash, Maya and Apple Pay.

Frequently Asked Questions

Candidacy is confirmed through an in-person clinical assessment, which usually includes X-rays or a 3D scan to evaluate your jawbone. Suitability is decided case by case, and options such as bone grafting can help some patients who initially lack bone volume. Message our team to arrange an assessment.

The dentist reviews your dental and medical history, examines the area of the missing tooth, and takes the imaging needed to plan the implant position. You will then receive a personalized treatment plan covering the recommended approach, the expected stages and the schedule of visits.

The first visit is normally for consultation, imaging and planning. Implant placement is scheduled after your treatment plan is confirmed. In selected cases an immediate-load approach may be considered, which your dentist will discuss if appropriate for you.

Implant treatment happens in stages: planning, implant placement, a healing period while the implant integrates with the bone, and fitting of the final crown. Overall timelines vary from a few months onward depending on healing and whether bone grafting is needed. Your dentist will map out your expected schedule after your assessment.

No. The implant crown is priced separately from the implant, so ask for both figures on your treatment plan.

The main factors are the number of implants, the implant system and crown material used, the complexity of your case and any additional procedures such as extractions or bone grafting. For an estimate based on your situation, message our team with your concern and preferred branch.

Implant placement is performed under local anaesthesia, and your dentist will explain what to expect at each step. Some swelling or discomfort afterwards is normal, and you are given written aftercare guidance before you leave.

Bone grafting rebuilds support where an implant needs a stronger foundation, and implant treatment is then planned around the healed graft. Whether it applies to you is decided from your imaging at assessment. Contact us to confirm availability at your branch.
